Tonight, students gathered at the Grand Canyon University Esports Arena for a Valentine's Duos Night. Members of GCU Esports played tonight in a fun opportunity to play games together, eat yummy snacks, and participate in a giveaway. Students entered a giveaway consisting of valentine's memorabilia, including stuffed bears, chocolates, and mugs.
Love through Esports
This evening was a fun occasion for couples to get together and play video games together. I spoke with a couple who met through GCU Esports, Sean Enriquez and McKenzie Hurst. Sean told me how GCU Esports impacted his college experience,
"I didn't know many people until I joined the Fortnite club here. I found a solid friend group through the club and met McKenzie there." McKenzie added, "
It's awesome to find people with shared interests and create solid relationships. GCU Esports has allowed me to find love and friendship." GCU Esports creates opportunities for students to find and develop relationships with others.
Stay Tuned:
The Duos Night was a success for students. Members of GCU Esports celebrated their love for gaming, food, and friends through this memorable event. GCU Esports is a fun place for students to find community in gaming. Stay tuned for the next GCU Esports event, Women's Wednesday, on February 22, at 6 pm at the Esports Arena.
