A new school year is under way, and the GCU Esports Arena is officially open! GCU Esports gives students a wide variety of ways to enjoy your favorite games and make some new friends in the process. GCU Esports offers scholarship opportunities through their Varsity teams consisting of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Overwatch, League of Legends, Rocket League, and Valorant. GCU Esports also is home to many collegiate club teams for competitive games old and new! This includes CS:GO, Rainbow Six Seige, Omega Strikers, Apex Legends, Fortnite and many others. Students who seek a less completive environment can also join a wide array of communities for games such as Minecraft, Pokemon, Destiny, and more!
Memberships
Students at GCU can get in on the fun at the GCU Esports Arena and at different events throughout the year. The consoles at the facility are free to play, while PCs require hours that you can obtain or purchase at the arena. With the GCU Esports Facility Membership Packages, you will be able to get hours on the PCs in the facility, as well as being able to get some cool GCU Esports gear! These packages come in four separate tiers.
Tier One
The Tier One membership is a free package for all GCU students! Tier One packages allow students up to eight free hours of PC time within the facility and a commemorative GCU Esports sticker. The Tier One package is perfect for those who want to explore a general interest in video games and esports.
Tier Two
The Tier Two package is the first of the paid memberships for GCU Esports, costing $50. With the Tier Two package, you receive 80 total facility hours and includes a commemorative GCU Esports t-shirt and bracelet. This tier is tailored toward those hoping to begin their dive into the world of esports and find new friends through the many upcoming esports events on campus.
Tier Three
The third package available is the Tier Three Membership package, costing $150. The Tier Three membership includes unlimited facility hours for the semester, an exclusive GCU Esports jersey, and a mousepad as well. This membership is a perfect opportunity for students passionate about esports and who want to invest in the esports community on campus.
Tier Four
The fourth package available is the Tier Four membership package, costing $300. The Tier Four package includes unlimited facility hours for the entire school year, a luxurious branded GCU Esports hoodie, an exclusive five-panel GCU Esports beanie, a commemorative water bottle, and a throw blanket. The Tier Four membership is for students who want to go all in and represent GCU Esports proudly.
Facility Hours
For those who want to give the esports facility a try without the commitment, they can purchase facility hours. Facility hours can be a reliable tool to see if an Esports Membership is for you. Facility hours at the GCU Esports Arena allow someone to come in and play for a fixed number of hours at a set price. Students can buy 4 hours at the facility for $4, 20 hours for $14, 40 hours for $25, and 100 hours for $50.
All the funds from the packages go back to the clubs and competitive teams at GCU Esports. Everything in this year's membership packages are exclusively available for this year. All packages from the previous tiers of the membership roll over to the next tier. GCU Esports looks to give back to the community and create opportunities for more students to get involved in the esports world.
